Troop 485 | Glencoe, Maryland

For more than 75 years, Troop 485 has been helping young people build confidence, leadership, lifelong friendships, and a love for the outdoors through the Scouting America program. From monthly campouts and community service to high adventure and Eagle Scout projects, our Scouts learn by doing.

WHO WE ARE

Since 1951, Troop 485 has been helping young people grow through adventure, leadership, service, and a whole lot of fun. Chartered by Immanuel Episcopal Church in Glencoe, Maryland, we're proud to serve families throughout the Hereford area and northern Baltimore County.

Scouting isn't just about earning badges or learning to camp; it's about trying new things, stepping outside your comfort zone, making friends, and discovering you're capable of more than you ever thought. One weekend you might be hiking a trail, the next you're cooking over a campfire, volunteering in the community, learning first aid, or leading your patrol on a trip.

The troop is youth-led, Scouts aren't just participating, they're planning, leading, and learning by doing. They build confidence, learn responsibility, and develop leadership skills that will stick with them.

Most importantly, Troop 485 is a place where kids can be kids. They get dirty, laugh around campfires, challenge themselves, make lifelong friends, and create memories they'll be talking about years from now.

Whether your child has been camping their whole life or has never slept in a tent, they're welcome here. Come visit a meeting, meet our Scouts and leaders, and see what Troop 485 is all about. We'd love to have you join us.
